Going back to the late 80′s it was common practise to spend the weekends trawling through the scrapyards, climbing over things to find that radiator or starter motor for you first car. You would go tooled up ready to get stuck in and it was great fun.
Scrap yards now are much more safety aware and having visited a few recently you are not allowed to enter them let along climb over them to get to that replacement part you are after. There also seems to be fewer of these yards around. Having said that the online market for these second hand parts is very busy. There are a variety of sites that allow you to enter your requirements and this gets emailed through to scrapyards around the country.
So what does this mean? Well it gives you the customer access to many more scrapyards around the UK and prices become more competitive however collecting your newly purchased car parts may counteract the saving by buying this way.
There is always a solution to these types of issues and especially for the bulkier items such as car door, bonnets, boots, wings, engines etc these can all be collected by cheap ebay couriers, you dont even need to get them wrapped or packaged as our drivers will do this for you.
There are certain requirements for moving engines so just email us for more details on these or call us 0800 917 7084
